What Is Prostodontics Dentistry?
Prosthodontics is the dental specialty that deals with the replacement of missing intra-oral and maxillofacial tissue with artificial substitutes.
The prosthodontist is the dental specialist who has recognized professional training and expertise in related procedures and who performs them on a routine and usual basis.
If necessary, it takes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, coordinating the contribution of general dental and medical practitioners as well as specialists.
He understands the changing prosthodontic needs of the aging patient, whose health is threatened and very often causing other challenges to be overcome.
As a dental specialist, he participates in whole or in part in clinical practice, teaching, research and structured dentistry. He has a lifelong commitment to the development of professional knowledge.
He takes responsibility for providing high quality patient care who may need a diagnosis, treatment plan and complex prosthodontic therapy.
